I've had my head in marketing books lately (Seth Godin's 'Purple Cow', check it out) and was delighted to find this clip about promoting cigarettes in the 1930's, with this particular campaign aiming to increase the percentage of women smokers. Very interesting. And wouldn't stand a chance as a marketing concept in todays world of taboo and restraints (oh and the fact that smoking is a killer). In true 'Mad Men' style, the women featured are well made up, well coiffed and look so elegant puffing away. Fab.
